The standing Committee in its 56th report recommended the Ministry of Cooperation to ensure speedy digitization of all the PACS in a time-bound manner with optimal utilization of funds allocated for the project.
Replying to this the Ministry said so far, proposals for 58,383 PACS from 28 States/ UTs have been received for computerization.
“GoI share amounting to Rs.437.17 crore has been released to States/ UTs for hardware procurement, digitization & support system. Further, Rs 100 crore has been released to NABARD for development of the common national software”, the reply reads.
It further added, “The centrally sponsored project for Computerization of 63,000 functional PACS with a total financial outlay of Rs. 2,516 crore is under implementation across the country”.
“The project entails bringing all the functional PACS onto an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) based common national software, linking them with NABARD through State Cooperative Banks (StCBs) and District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs)”, the reply added.
The reply asserted, “This will improve transparency, operational efficiency and governance in PACS through implementation of Common Accounting System (CAS) and Management Information System (MIS).
