President of ICA America, Ms Fernandez stepping down

Graciela Fernández, President of ICA Americas since 2018, is stepping down for personal reasons. José Alves of Brazil, the first vice president, will take over until her term ends in 2026.

Fernández was the first woman in this role and was re-elected unanimously in 2022. A prominent figure in the co-operative movement, she also chaired CUDECOOP and CCU in Uruguay.

In her farewell, Fernández expressed confidence in Alves and urged continued support for a united vision.

ICA Americas, founded in 1990, represents around 100 members from 24 countries, and Fernández emphasized collaboration for future initiatives.
