Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently opened Mayurbhanj goatary development project in Badsahi block of Maurbhanj in Odisha. It is a pilot project aimed to offer jobs for over three thousand farmers in the area.
The Mayurbhanj goatary development cooperative society has already trained 30 vaccinators to work together with the animal health department of the Khunta block, reports Odisha Diary.
Self Help Groups in the area are being made aware of the importance of goat farming, goat management and fodder cultivation. These groups are also given knowledge about vaccination and healthcare of Goats.
Dr Nibedita Majhi Secretary Mayurbhanj Goatary Development cooperative society, revealed that the cooperative society would provide farmers with marketing facilities as well.
