Amidst news of POS machines being put to misuse by vested interest, R.Kannan Collector of Viridhunagar district of Tamil Nadu has urged farmers to present their Aadhar cards while buying fertilizer for the rabi crop, reports Hindu.
The Collector said farmers should pay the price for the fertilizer mentioned on the bags and not pay not a farthing more than the stipulated rate.
Officials have warned that erring wholesale merchants selling higher quantities of urea would be booked under the Fertilizer Control Act 1985.
