According to the Indian Express Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar and Maharashtra’s cooperation minister from the ruling NCP Dilip Walse-Patil sparred over what Pawar alleged political masters shielding the board of directors of Maharashtra State Transport Co-operative bank involved in serious financial irregularities.
The bank with deposits worth Rs 2,300 crore is facing a serious challenge of financial mismanagement.
A 23-year-old young man was appointed as the managing director of the bank who is the brother-in-law of some powerful person.
Pawar demanded that the cooperation department should immediately remove the managing director.
