DNA reports the RBI-appointed administrator of PMCB may not be averse permitting soon the crisis-ridden bank to start doing its normal banking business again only if its big depositors promise not to withdraw their money for three years.
The bank’s administrator thinks, this will enable the bank to have a corpus of Rs 3,500 crore as a stable asset base for up to three years.
It is reported that some leading depositors are willing not to withdraw their deposits.
Earlier, a large number of depositors held a protest meeting before the RBI office demanding assurances from the authorities.
