The administrator of the scam-hit PMC Bank was bombarded with more than a thousand applications for withdrawal of deposits for treatment of Covid-19 illness, reports Business Line.
The affidavit filed by the Administrator in the Delhi High Court in the matter says a couple of hundreds of applications were received from March 15, 2021 till May 24, 2021.
These applications were received from mid-April 2020, when the RBI allowed withdrawals up to Rs 5 lakh for treatment of critical illness on hardship grounds including Covid-19.
The Administrator said all the applications have been duly processed and approved as per RBI’s directions.
