The owner of famed brand Amul, GCMMF has been felicitated by Maharashtra chief minister as one of the highest VAT payer in Maharashtra. The state govt has awarded 15 organizations for best performance in Maharashtra across all industries, reports TOI.
K M Jhala, chief operating officer accepted the award on behalf of GCMMF during the program which was presided over by Maharashtra governor Vidyasagar Rao, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, finance minister Sudheer Mungantiwar among others.
Talking to Indian Cooperative MD of GCMMF R S Sodhi said “we are humbled by the award.”The cooperative giant clocked an annual sales turnover of Rs 23,000 crore.
Sodhi also detailed several new initiatives taken by the dairy cooperative giant in recent months. He plans to have Amul products available in the remotest corners of the country.
