Hindu reports Bapugouda Patil has relinquished his post as the chairman of KCC bank in Dharwad. However, he has denied quitting under any political pressure.
It bears recalling that the board of directors of the bank had moved a non-confidence motion against him. Meanwhile, Patil claimed under his stewardship, the bank recovered loan arrears of Rs 26 crore and had moved towards profit.
Patil who is known for switching political sides also claimed that the bank disbursed Rs 60 crore medium-term agriculture loans under the 3% interest rate scheme in the last two years and recovery has been 100 percent.
