NCP leader Nitin Patil and Anil Desai have been elected as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Maharashtra-based Satara District Cooperative Bank, in an election held on Monday. The stamp of approval on their names was put by NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.
Patel and Desai have replaced the BJP MLAs Shrimant Bhonsle and Sunil Mane.
It is being said that Bhonsle had strained every nerve to become the Chairman of the bank again. In this regard, he met NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
Legislative Council Speaker Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar, State Cooperation Minister Balasaheb Patil, Udayan Raje Bhonsle, and others were present during the polls.
It bears recall that the bank board consists of 21 directors out of which 11 were elected unopposed. The election was held for 10 seats.
Satara DCCB had crossed the business mix of Rs 14k crore in the 2020-21 FY. Besides, the bank succeeded in maintaining the tradition of net NPA at Zero Percent. The bank earned a gross profit of Rs 150 crore and a net profit of Rs 65 crore in the said FY.
