That the newly-constructed cooperative Sugar mill in Panipat has started crushing operations from May 1. The news was welcomed by sugarcane growers, reports HT.
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar opened the Sugar mill on the occasion of International Labour Day at Dahar village on the Rohtak-Panipat highway.
Navdeep Singh, MD of the Panipat cooperative sugar mill, said the new Sugar mill would crush 50,000 quintals per day and from the next season, its crushing operations would become regular.
According to the MD, the total cost for setting up the new Sugar mill was around Rs 356 crore, including the GST.
