A swindle of Rs 1 crore has been detected in Pakhoke Cooperative Society in Barnala, Punjab reports Tribune.
The allegation is that the society’s secretary carried out illegal transactions in the accounts of 17 dead farmers.
Victims of the fraud have criticized the delay in the arrest of the accused even after the registration of FIR.
Meanwhile, angry members of the society have begun an indefinite protest in front of the society’s office.
