PACS employees oppose amendments to AP Co-op Act, 1964

The PACS employees in Srikakulam in AP are opposing amendments to the AP Cooperative Societies Act, 1964 by the state government, reports Hans India.

The employees staged protest meetings in front of District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCB) at all district headquarters on June 19.

“The proposed amendments to the AP Cooperative Societies Act, 1964 will mean handing over of 50 per cent shares of PACS to private persons and merger of Rythu Bharosa Kendras into PACS. These moves will harm the PACS employees’ interests”, claims protesters.
