In Bhubaneswar, a tripartite agreement was inked for constructing warehouses in the world’s largest grain storage initiative through cooperatives. With a shortfall in capacity, this project aims to address storage needs for the state’s food grains.
The MoU involves construction firms, National Construction Corporation (NBCC), Central Cooperative Bank (CCB), and Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) / Larger Adivasi Multipurpose Cooperative Society (LAMPCS).
A pilot initiative by the Government of India, in collaboration with Odisha, targets building warehouses with 500-2500 metric ton capacities, utilized by the Food Corporation of India.
