The KSFCF, which is celebrating its silver jubilee recently launched Matsya Bhavan. Cooperation minister H S Mahadeva Prasad distributed awards to best fisheries cooperative societies and best kiosks agents, reports Times of India
The Matsya Bhavan has been constructed under the Cold Chain project at a cost of Rs 2.30 crore. It has has been built with financial assistance of Rs 2.07 crore from the National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad, and Rs 23 lakh from the state government’s fisheries department.
The state government has a share of Rs 1.86 crore and fisheries cooperative societies Rs 5.79 lakh in the federation. A total of 276 fisheries cooperative societies have registered themselves with the federation. Out of this, 15 are Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes societies and 26 women societies.
