Three accused who bilked main Kalimela Large Sized Agricultural Multipurpose Primary Cooperative Society of Koraput Central Cooperative Bank of Rs 3.69 crore in Odisha were recently arrested by the EOW of crime branch reports New Indian Express.
The arrested were former branch manager, accountant and cashier who are accused of giving away loans without guarantee and security.
An audit by Cooperation Department had detected irregular and illegal crop loan sanction to the tune of Rs 3.69 crores by the three who had allegedly faked records and swindled the sum.
EOW officials said investigation will continue to find out if more officials are involved in the fraud.
