New Indian Express reports State cooperative credit structure has not achieved the crop loan distribution target fixed by the Odisha Government for this Kharif season.
District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) have distributed Rs 6,954.76 crore to farmers by July-end against a target of Rs 7,650 crore.
The Odisha Government had raised the kharif loan target from Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 9,000 crore with a view to helping migrant returnees with easy loans.
It is said 7 out of 17 DCCBs have not been able to meet the target.
