Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched 1542 new Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (MPACS), bringing the total number of PACS in the state to 4253.
The launch event, held at Lok Seva Bhawan, marks a significant step toward strengthening the state’s cooperative movement.
The government has introduced several key programs to make PACS more people-oriented, including the establishment of agricultural service centers, consumer stores, and grain storage facilities. The Chief Minister also announced the development of 77 PACS as model centers, offering a range of agricultural services under one roof.
Additionally, CM Majhi confirmed the decision to refund deposits to all customers of the defunct Bhubaneswar Urban Cooperative Bank, aiming to restore public trust.
