Following an initial inquiry by the office of Registrar of cooperative societies in Odisha , a scam allegedly involving some functionaries of Capital Cooperative Housing has come to light, reports Odishatv. In
The scandal relates to regularizing banned currency of Rs.32 lakh and grabbing a piece of land at Raghunathpur Jaili in Bhuvaneshwar. The land is said to be worth Rs 7 crore.
The cooperative department has sought a probe by the Economic Offences Wing. Meanwhile, Odisha cooperation minister Surya Narayan Patro has said action will be taken against the guilty.
However, office bearers of the scam tainted society have denied all allegations.
