Odisha: Bank on Wheels follows Fish on Wheels

There is flood of cooperative services on wheels in Odisha. After the Fish on Wheels it is turn of banks on wheels. Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik recently flagged off mobile banks to provide farmers with loans at their doorstep.

The Odisha state cooperative society (OSCB) has developed this programme, reports a news outlet. The vans with all facilities including banks and information kiosks will cover about 20 tribal blocks in 16 districts across Odisha.

The chief minister said the mobile bank service will cover all 314 blocks in the state in the next days. Odisha cooperation minister says cooperative banks will disburse Rs. 10,000 crore as loans in the current fiscal.
