Finding irregularities in the appointment of Data Entry Operators (DEOs) in the Baleswar-Bhadrak Central Cooperative Bank (BBCCB) in Odisha in 2011, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCSO) has urged the secretary of the bank to end an agreement with an outsourcing agency assigned for the appointments and send a compliance report within 15 days, a news outlet reports.
All the 37 DEOs had been hired through an outsourcing agency violating the HR Policy of Central Cooperative Bank, 2011.
Sujit Nayak had approached the RCSO and DRCS challenging the appointments.
Some customers and society members say the DEO scam is just the tip of the iceberg, there could be several skeletons in the closet of the bank.
