Reacting strongly to the letter of Sharad Pawar written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Ordinance for co-op banks and UCBs, one of the founding members of Sahakar Bharati Satish Marathe said “It is nothing but Political Posturing!”
Pawar has congratulated PM Modi for mentioning cooperatives from the pulpit of Red Fort but said the said Ordinance aims to privatize the co-op sector in the country- a charge Vidyadhar Anaskar of MSCB has been levelling for quite some time.
Reminding Pawar of his tenure and his activities concerning co-ops Marathe said, “When Sharad Pawar was in the Union Govt for 10 years, he himself was trying to convert Co-ops into Ltd Cos, Trusts, etc”.
Citing such cases he said it was Sahakar Bharati which strongly opposed Pawar, Marathe said. “In the Parliament, it was Dharmendra Pradhan who was at the forefront opposing him, along with CPM”, recalled Marathe.
Clarifying Satish Marathe said that these are my views as Founder Member, Sahakar Bharati
