GCMMF which owns the Amul brand, said it is not opposed to the fortification of milk but it would prefer natural milk. Reacting to FSSAI’s allegation of belittling the fortified milk segment, Amul said it is not for synthetic or artificially fortified milk, reports Financial Express.
It is worth mentioning that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had recently sent a notice to Amul for “disparaging” the fortified milk segment.
Talking to journalists GCMMF managing director R S Sodhi said” If I give you chemicals and synthetic where it is not required then it will become toxic,” he said.
