Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has stated that, as of now, no Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) in Andhra Pradesh are under consideration for conversion into Small Finance Banks (SFBs).
According to the National Cooperative Database (NCD), as of January 27, 2025, Andhra Pradesh has a total of 35 Urban Cooperative Banks.
The Government of India has been actively supporting the modernization and digitalization of cooperatives in Andhra Pradesh, ensuring greater efficiency and accessibility.
Over the past three years, the state has received significant financial support, with Rs 11,338.85 crore sanctioned in FY 2022-23, Rs 14,222.28 crore in FY 2023-24, and Rs 18,503.42 crore in FY 2024-25.
Additionally, Rs 18.12 crore has been allocated for the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in FY 2024-25, further accelerating the digital transformation of the cooperative sector in the state.
