No expectations; time to contribute to nation-building: Awasthi

Reacting to a question from the Indian Cooperative on the issue of expectations from the upcoming budget to be tabled tomorrow on Monday in the Parliament, IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi said we think more in terms of contributing to the GDP than anything else.

Dr U S Awasthi who is heading the largest fertilizer cooperative not only in India but also the world said “I think this is not the time to expect but to contribute as much as possible in Nation building”.

It bears recall that a couple of days ago IFFCO received the highest tax payer award, which was given by the customs department at Deendayal Port Trust Kandla, Gujarat. The award contained a Citation Plaque.

The award has yet again shown IFFCO’s contributions to the growth & development of our country. A proud moment for everyone at IFFCO & Indian Cooperative Movement, said Awasthi at the news.

Earlier, IFFCO has been ranked first among Top 300 global Cooperatives and figured in this year’s Fortune India 500 Edition at 57th position amongst the Top 500 Indian companies.

IFFCO has a turnover of Rs 29,412 crore. Also, IFFCO has a global group turnover of Rs 57,778 crore.

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget at 11 am on February 1.
