Punjab government officials say co-operative societies in the state are being supplied with enough fertiliser during the current rabi season. This is being done to ensure farmers of the state do not face problems regarding the availability of fertilizers, officials assert, reports The Statesman.
Sources add Markfed and Indian Farmers Fertiliser Co-operative Limited (IFFCO) have been advised to ensure equal distribution of fertilizer to cooperative societies.
Meanwhile, MD Markfed, informed that 77 per cent of DAP fertilizer has already been distributed to Primary Agriculture Co-operative Societies (PACS) of the state as per their demand and the supply of the balance 23 per cent is in progress.
Similarly, 49 per cent of the urea has reached in Societies and Markfed will ensure 100 per cent supplies of urea against indents soon, he said.
