The two MLAs from the Ajit Pawar group who took the oath as the Ministers in the Shinde government, are from the cooperative background. This augurs well for the growth of the sector, felt several co-operators.
The names included Hasan Mushrif and Dilip Walse Patil. Mushrif is the Chairman of Kolhapur District Central Cooperative Bank where as Patil served as the President of National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited (NFCSF).
Both leaders have been associated with the cooperative movement for a long time.
Besides, Ajit Pawar, who took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is also on the board of Pune District Cooperative Bank. Dilip Walse Patil is also one of the directors of Pune DCCB. He was earlier Chairman of the Sugar Co-op Federation.
