The new National Cooperative Policy is set to be announced within the next two to three months, a top official from the Ministry of Cooperation confirmed on Monday.
Cooperation Secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani stated that the policy is in its final stages of development. The draft, prepared by a 47-member committee led by former Union minister Suresh Prabhu, involved stakeholder consultations.
Bhutani also revealed that 65,000 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) will be computerised by February next year. The policy aligns with the vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi,’ fostering cooperative-based economic growth.
