The J&K govt. will pull all the stops to build a strong cooperative movement to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sahakar se Samridhi’, reports The Northlines quoting a govt press release.
The government has urged all the stakeholders to take measures through cooperative bodies in making all Panchayats of the UT prosperous and creating village infrastructure.
With a view to strengthening the cooperative movement, 66 new FPOs were registered in 2020-21 besides 306 cooperatives were registered in the same year. Official data say 138 cooperative societies were revived and made functional.
Indian Cooperative has gathered that several national level co-ops have also decided to hold their Board meetings in J&K to push the movement further.
