Facing mounting pressure, the Nepali Congress has launched a protest demanding an investigation into Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, ahead of the 2024-25 Budget announcement on May 28.
The Congress seeks a parliamentary committee to probe the misappropriation of cooperative funds involving Lamichhane.
On Sunday, hundreds of opposition supporters protested in Kathmandu. Prabin Maharjan, a protesting cadre, criticized the ruling alliance for blocking the investigation, noting their previous calls for similar committees.
He emphasized the protests would escalate based on the government’s actions.
