Chairman of National Cooperative Federation of Nepal Keshav Prasad Badal fell ill and was hospitalized in Kathmandu last week. Badal is recuperating in the hospital.
Badal’s associate in the Cooperative Union Mrs Chitra Thamsuhang wrote on her FB wall that the senior cooperator has been admitted to Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular & Transplant Centre and the doctors are deliberating if he has to go for angioplasty.
Last November in Delhi Badal was unanimously elected for the first time to the board of International Cooperative Alliance-Asia and Pacific. The election was held in Ashok Hotel, Delhi where Li Chunsheng of China, NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh Yadav of India Ms Chitose Arai of Japan were elected Chairman and Vice-Presidents respectively.
Badal also played a crucial role in the reconstruction of Nepal in the wake of massive earthquake which wiped out scores of towns of the Himalyan Kingdom. He successfully coordinated with cooperators across the globe to lend a helping hand.
