The Coop Connect division of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) successfully organized the 1st One-Day State-Level Youth Workshop on Cooperation (Cooperative Olympiad) at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College, Agartala, Tripura, on January 31, 2025.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Cooperation, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 students and 30 faculty members representing various colleges across Tripura.
This workshop marks the launch of a series of state-level youth workshops and competitions as part of the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
The program was inaugurated by Animesh Debbarma, Director of Higher Education, Tripura, and presided over by Dr. Nirmal Bhadra, Principal of MBB College. Dr. M.S. Murasingh, Assistant Professor at MBB College, served as the local nodal officer, coordinating the event seamlessly.
The workshop featured engaging and insightful sessions led by Anant Dubey, Deputy Director, NCUI, and Anurag, Deputy Director, NCUI.
The discussions covered crucial topics such as Cooperative Ideology, Values & Principles, Formation of Cooperatives, Role of Social Media in Cooperatives, and Government & NCUI Initiatives for Cooperative Development.
Following two rounds of intense competition, the winners of the Cooperative Olympiad were announced: First Prize: Souravi Sarkar (Tripura Govt. Law College), Second Prize: Tanmay Devnath (MBB College), Third Prize: Fardin Poddar (Tripura Govt. Law College) and Consolation Prizes: Joynil Saha & Athukri Jamatia (MBB College).
