NCUI’s pavilion at the International Agriculture and Horti Expo 2017 held last week at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi was thronged by a large number of visitors and dignitaries.
The visiting guests not only appreciated the stalls but also made purchases of organic products, handicraft items, vermi-compost and namkeen products made by the beneficiaries of NCUI Project area, claimed NCUI sources.
The purpose of participation was to apprise the visitors of the aims and objectives of NCUI and to provide an exposure to the farmers through Agriculture Experts of NCUI Cooperative Education Field Projects.
“The Farm Guidance Instructors (FGI’s) of NCUI Cooperative Education Field Projects Jalandhar (Punjab), Jhanshi (U.P.) and Bilaspur (H.P.) along with their farmer members displayed and sold the products of SHGs and PACS formed by them.
This participation helped them to gain valuable inputs and exposure for value addition of products with the introduction of modern machinery displayed by other exhibitors” read a press release from NCUI.
The ideology and spirit of cooperation was promoted by distribution of copies of literature like The Cooperator and NCUI Brochure, says the release. Ramesh Kaul, Dy. Director, NCCE coordinated the programme.
