The National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) is set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today on September 25, 2024, at its headquarters in New Delhi. With over 150 representatives from various member organizations confirmed to attend, the meeting will be presided over by NCUI President Shri Dileep Sanghani.
This AGM is significant as it comes at a time when several initiatives led by the Ministry of Cooperation are focused on revitalizing and strengthening the cooperative movement, with NCUI playing a leading role in their implementation.
Additionally, the AGM precedes the upcoming Global Cooperative Conference and the International Cooperative Alliance Asia-Pacific (ICA-AP) AGM, scheduled for November 2024, marking a crucial period for the cooperative sector both nationally and globally.
The AGM will address key matters, including the approval of NCUI’s Annual Report and Audit Report for 2023-2024. Additionally, the work program for the fiscal year 2025-2026, revised budgets, and important by-law amendments will be discussed in alignment with the MSCS (Amendment) Act, 2023.
A critical highlight will be the appointment of auditors and discussions on governance-related issues. This AGM will play a vital role in paving the direction for NCUI’s future course of work and ensuring its active participation in both national and international cooperative movements.
