The visiting Kenyan cooperative delegation visited several cooperative bodies of India including Delhi based Bhajanpura Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society last week. The delegation was on a study tour to learn about the functioning of cooperative institutions in India.
On their visit, R K Sharma secretary of Bhajanpura Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society said, “The delegation from Kenya appreciated the work we are doing in changing the lives of families. We have more than 13,000 members who are directly associated with us”, he said with a touch of pride.
“Our society’s business mix is about Rs 80 crore. The loan and advances tally over Rs 60 crore. We are having four branches across Delhi and earned a net profit of about Rs 60 lakhs in the last financial year”, Sharma informed.
The social media handle of NCUI also shared the details of the Kenyan delegation’s visit to Bhajanpur cooperative society and wrote, “NCUI arranged the visit of the Savings and Credit Cooperative Leaders of Kenya to the Bhajanpura Cooperative Thrift and Credit Society in North East Delhi on 26th April”.
It is learnt that the whole trip has sponsored by NCUI and the delegation would return home on 28th April.
