The National Cooperative Consumer’s Education (NCCE), a branch of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI), commenced its highly anticipated Leadership Development Program (LDP) aimed at Chairpersons and Women Directors of cooperatives across India. The inauguration ceremony, held at NCCE, New Delhi, marked the beginning of this intensive program.
A total of 52 representatives from various states, including Goa, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Manipur, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat, are actively participating in this program, showcasing a strong commitment to cooperative leadership and development.
During the inaugural session, Savitri Singh, Deputy Chief Executive of NCUI, extended a warm welcome to all participants, providing an overview of the course structure and objectives of the LDP.
Additionally, Jeena Potsangbam, a distinguished GC Member of NCUI, shared insights and perspectives with the attendees, setting the tone for an engaging and enriching program.
Throughout the sessions, participants delved into a wide array of pertinent topics, including Cooperative Philosophy, Values & Principles, the New Cooperative Policy, MSCS Act & its Impact on Women Cooperatives, as well as various initiatives spearheaded by the Ministry of Cooperation (GoI) and NCUI.
The program also facilitated in-depth discussions on crucial subjects such as Types of Members, Procedures for Admission, Termination & Suspension of Members in a Women Cooperative, and the Roles & Responsibilities of Chairpersons & Board of Directors, among others.
The LDP, designed to empower and equip cooperative leaders with essential knowledge and skills, will continue until April 10, 2024, promising a transformative learning experience for all participants.
