NCUI hosts Co-op Awareness program at Maharaja Surajmal Institute

Continuing its mission to engage youth with the cooperative movement, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) organized a one-day awareness program for students of Maharaja Surajmal Institute (MSI). The event, part of the Coop Connect initiative, aimed to educate young participants on the cooperative business model and the opportunities it presents.

The program commenced with an introductory session where Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director of Coop Connect at NCUI, provided an in-depth overview of the cooperative business model and highlighted key initiatives undertaken by NCUI.

Following this, Sanjay Verma, Director of PR and Publications at NCUI, addressed the students on entrepreneurship and career opportunities within the cooperative sector.

The session included interactive discussions, enabling students to engage directly with experts. The highlight of the program was a visit to the NCUI Haat, where students experienced first hand the diverse range of products created by lesser-known Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and cooperatives.

The program concluded with a valedictory ceremony during which certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees, recognizing their involvement and learning during the event. This initiative underscores NCUI’s commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of cooperatives among the youth.
