NCUI conducts programme for co-op unions

National Centre for Cooperative Education conducted a training programme recently at the NCUI headquarters in Delhi for the chairmen and directors of state and district cooperative unions.

There were about 28 participants from different states of India who benefited from the programme. The prime objective of the programme was to develop managerial skill among participants so that they could provide good governance and professional management to their cooperative societies. Efforts were put in to encourage participant interaction and discussions about challenges and issues as also about the ways and means of grappling with them.

Inaugurating the programme Dr Dinesh Chief Executive NCUI said the cooperative unions are the federations who can guide and support all types of cooperative societies in their respective districts and states. Hence, the role of the Chairmen and Directors of State and District Cooperative Unions are very important, he said.

The course was conducted by experts who covered subjects such as Cooperative Principles & Values, Income Generating Activities, Role & Responsibilities of Board of Directors, Need and Importance of Cooperative Education & Training, Types & Style of Cooperative Leaders, Cooperative Management, Strengthening State / District Cooperative Unions through Centre Sector Scheme, Role of State / District Cooperative Unions for strengthening of Cooperative Education, Effective Communication Skill for Cooperative Leaders.

Dr. V.K. Dubey, Director, NCCE called upon the participants to apply the acquired knowledge in the working of their respective societies when they return home. The programme was successfully conducted with the help of Anant Dubey, Assistant Director, NCCE who coordinated the proceedings.
