The cooperative conference held recently in Patna had some interesting moments and one of them was when RJD Supremo began describing Mrs Vasudha Mishra, Managing Director of NCDC as one of the powerful women present in the Hall.
Towards the end of his humour-laden speech Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was repeatedly referred to as the guardian by Sunil Singh during the function, exhorted NCDC MD Mrs Mishra to help the PACS Chairmen surmount their problems. “She can prove to be your messiah and you should take maximum benefits from her presence in the meeting”, he said to PACS Chairmen who were clamouring for provision of salaries for themselves.
“While I was sitting someone handed over a booklet on the cover of which Narendra Modi’s photograph was posted”, Yadav said without hiding his allergy to the PM. “But as soon as I opened the book I found several schemes in it for the benefit of poor”, he was referring to NCDC booklet distributed among participants.
Turning around and looking in the direction of Mrs Vasudha Mishra Lalu said “you can really be of great help to these poor guys; please meet up with them and solve their issues”, Lalu said.
Earlier Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Singh also introduced NCDC and its MD as one of the important pillars of the cooperative movement.
Mrs Mishra’s in-laws belong to Bihar- a fact not lost on the local cooperators. The RJD supremo even suggested organizers gift sarees to her underlining the tradition followed in Bihar for daughter-in laws.
