NCDC has disbursed Rs 1,169.86cr to Punjab

National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed an amount of Rs 1,169.86 crore as on date in the state of Punjab. Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah gave the statement while giving a written reply to the query raised by Rajya Sabha member Ashok Mittal.

“A proposal for computerization of 3,523 PACS has been received from the State of Punjab, which has been taken up under the “Computerization of PACS” project and a proposal for paddy MSP operations of Rs. 10,000 Crore for Punjab MARKFED from Department of

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government of Punjab has been received, which has been sanctioned by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)”, Shah added in his reply.

He further said that, “In order to revitalize the cooperative sector, bringing transparency, modernization, computerization, creating competitive cooperatives and deepening their reach to the grassroots across the country, including the State of Punjab the Ministry of Cooperation is implementing  various schemes including a project for

Computerization of 63,000 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) across the country at a total estimated cost of Rs. 2,516 Crore. Financial assistance of Rs 341.67 Cr in the Year 2021-22 and Rs 47.9 Crore in the current year, in the form of subsidy/grant to the Cooperative societies under erstwhile CSISAC Scheme for the cooperative sector”, Shah informed.
