The agri cooperative lender-National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) provided a financial assistance of Rs 29,901 crore to the cooperatives in Chhattisgarh in the last three years.
This was revealed by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah while replying to the query of Vijay Baghel, Lok Sabha Member from Durg, Chhattisgarh.
NCDC disbursed Rs 5,500 crore in 2019-20, Rs 12,000 crore in 2020-21 and Rs 12,400 crore in 2021-22.
The Ministry of Cooperation, other Ministries/ Departments are also running several schemes for providing benefits to cooperatives including Agriculture Infrastructure fund (Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare), Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying), Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Fund (Department of Fisheries) and others.
“The Ministry has also launched a centrally sponsored project “Computerization of Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS)” with a budgetary outlay of Rs 2,516 crores for digitalization of 63,000 functional PACS which are at the bottom of the three-tier rural credit structure”, Shah’s answer reads.
