During 2020-21, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) disbursed Rs. 68.64 Crore for 143 tribal cooperative units, said Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. He was giving a written reply to a query raised by a Rajya Sabha member.
Shah said, “In order to revitalize the cooperative sector with active participation of various States/UTs by bringing transparency, modernization, computerization, creating competitive cooperatives and deepening its reach to the grassroots across the country, including the State Madhya Pradesh and its tribal areas, the Ministry of Cooperation is implementing the schemes”.
“Project for Computerization of 63,000 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) across the country at a total estimated cost of Rs. 2,516 Crore. Financial assistance of Rs 341.67 Cr in the Year 2021-22 and Rs 47.9 Crore in the current year, in the form of subsidy/grant to the Cooperative societies under the erstwhile Central Sector Integrated Scheme on Agricultural Cooperation (CSISAC) Scheme for the cooperative sector”, his reply reads.
