Vishal Singh, Chairman of National Consumer Cooperative Federation (NCCF) and the son of veteran co-operator Late Ajit Singh, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday in Patna, in a glittering event.
He joined the BJP in the presence of Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal, Union Home Minister for State Nityanand Rai, Samrat Chowdhary, leader of the opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council and others.
On the occasion, Singh’s mother Meena Singh, who was the Ex-Member of Parliament from JDU Bikramganj, also joined the BJP. Political observers attach a great deal of importance to these leaders joining the BJP before the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
It is worth mentioning that ever since his father’s demise, Vishal has been trying to come up on his own. His recent elevation as NCCF Chairman and his presence on the Board of both NCUI and Nafed have helped augment both his co-operative and political profile.
Bijender Singh and Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, both of who were his late father’s friends, have helped him rise in career, insiders say.
