National Productivity Council Director General Sundeep Kumar Nayak has been elected as the Vice Chair of Asian Productivity Organization governing body for 2023-24. Nayak is a well-known face in the cooperative circles and is the former Managing Director of National Cooperative Development Corporation.
The election was held at the 65th session of the Governing body meeting (GBM) of the Asian Productivity Organization on Thursday at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The conference kicked off on 24th May 2023 and concluded on 26th May 2023.
The APO’s GBM is an annual event where representatives from member economies gather to discuss the organization’s strategic directions, policies, and programs. The Governing Body (GB) plays a crucial role in shaping the organization’s priorities and ensuring that its activities align with the needs and interests of its members.
During the GBM, members review the APO’s progress, discuss its plans and budget, and exchange ideas on how to improve productivity and promote sustainable development across the Asia-Pacific region through the APO’s services and activities.
