Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday launched a state-wide campaign – Cooperative at your Doorstep – to create awareness on state government’s initiatives for farmers in the cooperative sector, reports TOI.
The campaign that would continue till July-end would also help farmers get crop loan at 1% interest from cooperative banks that distribute around 65% of total crop loan in Odisha.
A MoU was also signed between the state government and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to form joint liability groups (JLBs) among small farmers and sharecroppers which will help them to get loans from cooperative banks.
