The Rs 150 crore scam that rocked Nagpur district central cooperative bank has ensnared several top politicians. This is emerging as one of the biggest cooperative scandals in the country.
According to a recent Times of India report, former cooperative official Yashwant Bagde who had conducted an enquiry into the scam has told the high court that he had handed over all records concerning the scam to the bank management.
However, Surendra Kharbade who was appointed an enquiry officer to probe the scam has moved an application before the court saying Bagde has adamantly been refusing to provide enquiry records.
The TOI report says based on Bagde’s report the dept of cooperatives had asked former chairman Sunil Kedar a NCP MLA to pay Rs 299 crore for the loss caused due to scam. Meanwhile, the court has adjourned the hearing in the matter.
