In the wake of RBI decision not to allow District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) participation in exchange facility a harassed Nafscob Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani met Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday at the latter’s residence in Delhi.
“I have petitioned the Minister to withdraw the decision which is not in favor of farmers because DCCBs are mostly active in rural areas where farmers deposit their hard earnings”.
Minister listened to me carefully and assured me that he will look into the matter and will talk to higher authorities, said sanghani soon after the meeting.
My plan to meet the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley could not succeed as he was busy meeting officials to combat the crisis arisen in the wake of demonetization, informed Sanghani.
In his meeting with Gangwar issue of allowing shopping of seeds and fertilizer with old currency notes also came up, said Sanghani who is also chairman of the District Cooperative Bank, Amerli.
