Haryana government has decided purchase 1,000 tonnes of onion from cooperative NAFED at a price not exceeding Rs 30 per kg. The govt. has asked Hafed to acquire 1,000 tonnes of onion from Nafed, reports PTI.
Sources say onions would be distributed at the rate of Rs 35 per kilogram through Hafed co-operative societies and milk booths of Dairy Development Department.
It has also been decided that Hafed would create a Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) to control increase in prices of essential commodities for which the Government of India (GOI) has created a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore.
