The agri cooperative-Nafed commenced the dispatch of Red Onion to Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam and Himachal Pradesh for the benefit of consumers.

This has been done after meeting the target of procurement of onion for PSF buffer.

Besides, on the instructions of the Department of Consumer Affairs, the agri cooperative also slashed the sale rate of Tomato to Rs 50 per kg for the benefit of consumers.

It bears recalling that from last one month, the consumer co-ops NCCF and Nafed are selling the tomatoes at the subsidized rate for the consumers.

NCCF recently sold 71,500 kg of tomatoes at a subsidised rate in the national capital in many locations like Seelampur and R.K. Puram.

The two-day mega sale held by NCCF ahead of the Independence Day celebrations

Since July 11, NCCF has been selling tomatoes at a reduced rate on behalf of the Consumer Affairs Ministry to boost domestic availability and check prices.
