The Share and Care Canada recently distributed warm blankets to the poor people of Badli and Samyapur, North Delhi living in slums as well as widows in collaboration with the North-Ex Cooperative Society.
Nafed Director Ashok Thakur chief guest on the occasion said though the people connected with the organization live in faraway lands like Canada, Europe, America but their spirit of helping to improve the welfare and happiness of the poor through these programmes lives in India.
He said ”the North X Society is fighting against economic exploitation and these societies are working for the welfare of poor people but if they work together they could make a significant difference, he added.
Thakur said all governments’ talk about the poor have done nothing to improve the living conditions of those living in the slum areas. Defying the order of the Supreme Court, the previous government had made thousands of people homeless living in Suraj Park.
Proposing a vote of thanks on the occasion, Rampuri thanked the North X Cooperative for their cooperation.
